We have recently completed a £1.3 million enabling works package for MEPC at the Silverstone Racing circuit. MEPC, a British-based imaginative developer provides dynamic long-term stewardship and the creation of transformational places with the future in mind.
Supporting the future expansion of MEPCs existing Silverstone portfolio, we were required to carry out enabling works and bulk earthworks to construct various landscaped bunds and dispose off-site circa 22,000m3 of surplus material, ahead of the future construction. Our works also comprised of the off-site disposal of 22,000m3 of surplus subsoil, planting to bunds and the installation of fencing.
The 13-week contract commenced in early January 2024, and was completed on time, despite it being one of the wettest winters on record. Time being of the essence, the soft landscaping to the completed bunds was carried out within the year’s planting season.
We strive to leave a lasting legacy with the work we do and with the local community. Communication and dialogue with the general public ahead of and during the works was crucial, as many had used the land previously for dog walking. Routes around the site were maintained with work areas being effectively secured to ensure the enjoyment and safety of the public.
We’re committed to working sustainably, which is why 22,000m3 of stockpiled soil from previous construction projects was utilised within landscaped bunds to minimise disposal of spoil to landfill. In addition, 450 new trees were planted, 500m of hedging was placed and 13,500m2 of wild grass meadow was dispersed.
