We pride ourselves on working at the forefront of technology to ensure that we have the most effective earthwork solutions for the ever changing needs of our clients. NRG Survey System allows us to build a 3D model of any finished surface, including car parks, roads, sports pitches and yards.
The benefits this brings to our clients include:
- The accurate calculation of material quantities, including those for cut-and-fill situations, enabling us to deliver clear, accurate and reliable information and advice to clients, before, during and after contracts.
- To bring value engineering principles to earthwork problems by using in-house expertise to redesign finished levels and surface drainage to provide clients with the best possible results both financially and practically.
- The ability to check setting out and level information accurately before contracts commence to ensure they are correct and that once works commence they can progress as planned.
The 3D model integrates O’Brien’s fleet of dozers, which are equipped with 3D controls, and our in-house engineers use the latest in robotic total stations to provide a productive, accurate and financially beneficial service to customers.
We use the very latest high technology laser levelling equipment, providing clients with the most cost effective solution for their large-scale earthwork requirements.
Using Trimble’s 3D and laser-based technology we offer practical solutions for all mass excavation, site preparation and fine grading jobs. It is particularly effective in the preparation of floor slabs, parking areas and road works. This ground-breaking technology ensures that we can reduce contract time, materials and site management resources, essentially saving the client money.
The Trimble 3D control system can also be used on more complex projects where the digital design data from the design/CAD software can be converted to guide the blade control.
Through the use of laser levelling, we can lay up to 4000 m2 in one day with an accuracy of +/- 5mm, incorporating any materials from well graded soils to hardcore, and laid to any fall or cross fall required. The machine will constantly check and control the levels thus avoiding the need for reworking.
Projects where we have used this technology include: Goodman’s Lyons Park in Coventry, Hanson’s Brickworks in Measham, Inglewood Investments’ Prime Point 14 in Staffordshire and Kewford Eagles FC’s 11 natural pitches in Kingswinford.
