Synthetic Turf Pitch for Parklands High School in Chorley

We were appointed as design and build contractors for the construction of a new 6,500m2 state-of-the-art synthetic turf pitch for football & hockey use.

Requirement

The project at Parklands High School in Chorley, consisted of the removal of top soil to form a bund, followed by earthworks remodelling, consisting of cut and fill of the site to form a plateau level for the proposed new pitch.

Through our investment in cutting edge surveying equipment and state-of-the-art dozers; equipped with GPS control systems which are linked to the design software, we were able to deliver the design to the exact client specifications in the most efficient method possible and with minimal disruption.

Once a level site had been established, we installed the drainage, subbase blinded over with a dynamic base, curbs, twin-bar super-rebound fencing, timber kick boards and eight 15m raise and lower column floodlights. The high performance Notts Sward synthetic surface was chosen for its’ durability in meeting the needs of multiple sports activities.

The works also included the installation of a Macadam access road.

Result/Outcomes

The excess materials from the cut and fill balance were used to form a spectator area preventing waste from going to landfill.
