Careers

People-led. Tech-driven. Committed.

We recognise people potential; from hands-on, in-house training, to director-level coaching for everyone in the business, including our grassroots skilled operatives, through to ongoing mentoring and career progression. We’re determined to be the best-in-class and an employer of choice.

We grow our own talent and aren’t afraid to try new things, challenge clients in the right ways, and push boundaries.

Our training plans are regularly reviewed and updated and are tailored to both our new starters and more experienced workers.

Take a look at our current vacancies, apprenticeships or training schemes here.

To try and address the issues the construction industry faces around the lack of skilled workers and an aging workforce we provide apprentice training to help attract young people to the industry and give them the experience and qualifications they need to progress and have a fulfilling career.

During 2016 we provided 8 apprenticeship placements and, on average, we provide 2 apprenticeship placements each year to support the next generation of construction specialists.

Our apprentices get on the job experience and training and also spend 1 day per week at a training centre or university so will come away with an industry recognised qualification or degree. We have also developed 5 new apprentices that have the potential to develop into managerial positions.

If you are interested in becoming an O’Brien apprentice, please email  info@obriencontractors.co.uk or if you already have some industry experience and would like to work with us, please upload your CV in the form below.

Everybody that works at O’Brien, from apprentices through to directors, is given ongoing training and development opportunities to ensure that our team remains motivated and is also the best in the industry.

Through our succession planning, we have embedded a culture of training and development throughout the business and allocate substantial funds to training programmes each year.
